Ivanka Trump Biography


Ivanka Marie Trump was born on October 30, 1981, in New York City to real estate developer Donald Trump and former Czech model Ivana Trump. Starting out as a teenage model, Ivanka Trump debuted on the cover of a magazine at the age of 15, landing on the front of Seventeen. Also in 1997, she hosted the Miss Teen USA Pageant.

Over the course of the next few years, Ivanka Trump appeared in the pages of fashion mags such as Glamour and Elle, in ad campaigns for Sassoon Jeans and Tommy Hilfiger, and also walked the runways for Thierry Mugler, Versace and Marc Bouwer. She also found time to complete her high school studies at Choate Rosemary Hall in Connecticut, and at Chapin in New York City. She went on to attend Georgetown University before transferring to the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated magna cum laude in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in real estate.

In 2003, Ivanka Trump appeared in the documentary Born Rich, about being born and raised in a wealthy family. The following year, she appeared as herself again in the Sex and the City: A Farewell send-off. She also had a real job working as a project manager for Forest City Ratner Companies.

2006 saw her as a guest judge on Project Runway, as well as in The Girls Next Door, a documentary about the Playboy Mansion. But it was her debut on another television program that would ultimately make her a familiar face to network television audiences.

Ivanka Trump had already been on her father's top-rated reality series, The Apprentice, filling in for Carolyn Kepcher for a handful of episodes during the show's fifth season, when in 2006, she stepped into Kepcher's shoes as a primary boardroom judge for the sixth season. The Donald also gave his daughter a job in the real world in 2005, as the Trump Organization's vice president of real estate development and acquisitions.

2007 proved to be another busy year for Ivanka Trump. She was featured on the covers of magazines, including Elle Mexico, Avenue, Forbes, Stuff, and Golf Magazine, as well as in a Harper's Bazaar feature. She spoke at the Creating Wealth Summit in April 2007, and launched a self-named line of jewelry with Dynamic Diamond Corp. in September.
